Theocharis, Orthopedic Surgeon in Holistic Medicine, Honorary Doctor of the Ioannina School of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>I am really excited about the therapeutic work I do.\u00a0My goal is to give more help to people with chronic problems, with solutions that work in a natural way and, often, without the need for a prescription or surgical intervention.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9276 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/theoharis.jpg\" alt=\"theoharis\" width=\"640\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/theoharis.jpg 640w, https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/theoharis-180x135.jpg 180w, https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/theoharis-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For the past 15\u00a0years, I have adapted my therapeutic approach using the latest developments in the field of integrated holistic natural medicine to help a wide range of people: from those who wish to adopt preventive methods and have more energy to those facing the most debilitating illnesses.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-9272\" src=\"https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/107293-Theoxartis-1.jpg\" alt=\"\u0393\u03c1\u03b1\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bf \u0394\u03a1. \u0392\u0391\u03a3\u0399\u039b\u0395\u0399\u039f\u03a5 \u0399. \u0398\u0395\u039f\u03a7\u0391\u03a1\u0397\" width=\"600\" height=\"393\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/107293-Theoxartis-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/107293-Theoxartis-1-300x197.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theoharisvasilios.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/107293-Theoxartis-1-700x459.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After graduating from the School of Medicine, the conventional course of providing medical services through the prescription of drugs did not satisfy me as a new doctor, due to the many side effects and the inability of improvement in the case of chronic disease.<\/p>\n<p>After completing my service as a rural\/country doctor in Karystos, Kavo Doro, I pursued the orthopedic specialty at Asklipieio Voulas General Hospital, and I completed it in 1992 after successful examinations.<\/p>\n<p>Immediately afterwards, I was trained\u00a0in orthopedic surgery\u00a0at the Loma Linda University Hospital\u00a0in CA USA and, upon completion, I attended a specialized health department in\u00a0Bakerfield\u00a0CA USA on the prevention and treatment of chronic degenerative diseases, and on primary health care.\u00a0The main therapeutic tools were the science of\u00a0orthomolecular\u00a0diet and the healthy mind lifestyle, as well as outreach as a family counselor.<\/p>\n<p>Returning from the US, I joined the Department of Physiology at the University of Ioannina School of Medicine, where I received my doctoral degree with honors, in July 2011, on the activity of antioxidants in disease.\u00a0I, later, participated in activities related to the applications of electromagnetic fields in terminal disease and cancer cases, with the aim of extending the life expectancy of patients and, at the same time, improving their quality of life as well.<\/p>\n<p>This activity continues to this day.\u00a0I have been actively involved in the events of the Laboratory of Physiology at the Ioannina Medical School for more than ten years, with published work and ongoing activity:<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> \u0391nti Platelet and anti-cancer activities of natural components in red wine.<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> Inhibition of platelet aggregation and stimulation of natural killer cells functionality by administration of flavonoids (Publication\u00a0in a\u00a0valid\u00a0international\u00a0journal\u00a0)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>I returned to the US in 2001 for postgraduate study on\u00a0the chelation\u00a0of heavy metals &#8211; chelating\u00a0agents with applications in:<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-list\" style=\"margin-left:0px\">\n<ul>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> the narrowing of vessels<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> uncontrolled diabetes mellitus<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> arthritis not regulated by standard medication<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> anti-aging<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> diabetic ulcers<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> heavy metal poisoning<\/li>\n<li><i class=\"sui sui-arrow-circle-right\" style=\"color:#b11d23\"><\/i> neuro-psychiatric disease<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is a treatment that reduces the number of toxic free\u00a0radicals\u00a0caused by metals, which lead to the development of atherosclerosis and many other degenerative diseases of aging.\u00a0The regulation of calcium and cholesterol in the body, through the\u00a0chelating\u00a0process, improves the normalization of the internal chemistry of\u00a0cells.\u00a0This gives the body time to heal and restore blood flow through the blood vessels.\u00a0This intravenous\u00a0chelating\u00a0therapy often brings definitive improvement to many metabolic and physiological processes in the body.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, I completed a special training program by the International Medical\u00a0Society\u00a0for\u00a0EAV on\u00a0bioresonance\u00a0medicine and, in particular, electroacupuncture\u00a0according to Dr.\u00a0Voll\u00a0&#8211; Germany.\u00a0I participated actively in this training, and I successfully passed the theoretical and practical exams.<\/p>\n<p>After attending a two-year seminar series and after successful examinations at the Acupuncture Training Institute,\u00a0under the auspices of the International Council for Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques(ICMART), I became a Certified Acupuncture Practitioner.<\/p>\n<p>I am a\u00a0member of the Greek Medical Acupuncture Group.<\/p>\n<p>I regularly attend further training at the Academy of Medical Acupuncture in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>I have been a member of the Medical Association of Athens since 1985 and until 23\/09\/1992, and a member of the Medical Association of Piraeus from 24\/09\/92 until the present day.\u00a0I served as a Deputy Director at the Social Insurance Institute for the period 2004-2011.
